Premiere Wines

In 2006 we gave our Premiere Wine the name of the wine town on the Rhine Terrace that is probably known best. Here we have a large part of our vineyard property. Many shook their head since the image of Nierstein had been ruined by rather simple sweet wines. We nevertheless believed that a „genius loci“ of Nierstein exists, which can be expressed in the wines – that is what is today commonly called Terroir. Success has proved us right.

For all of us the Nierstein Riesling reflects what Rhine wines have been so famous for so long: the full ripeness of grapes makes for a powerful body, while the red slated underground opens the wine and gives it tightness and finesse. If according to Plato all knowledge is a form of remembering, then our Nierstein Riesling has freshened the memory of what a great German Riesling can be like.
